Responding to a question as to why the government MPs had boycotted parliament sittings once again, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday explained that they don’t intend attending an illegal gathering.
“We are not avoiding anything. We simply don’t like to attend an illegal gathering,” he told journalists in parliament, adding that parliament sessions were being held illegally and accused Speaker Karu Jayasuriya of not respecting the law. “The Speaker doesn’t respect the law. We decided not to attend because of his arbitrary actions,” he said.
When asked how the crisis situation would be resolved if the situation continued in this manner, Mr. Rajapaksa said it would be resolved. “We are awaiting,” he said. (Lahiru Pothmulla)\

You need to respect the parliament. It was undoubtedly proved that you lost the No confidence motion. So what else?

Gamini Friday, 30 November 2018 09:54 AM
I am lost for words! Look into the mirror to see who did everything illegally. You act, talk and deceive people with no shame. Parliament did everything according to the rules. You are the leader of the illegal bunch. Just look at the footage of Nov.15th to see how legal their acts were.
Sofia Friday, 30 November 2018 09:58 AM
Why do not you go to Courts as you and your Jokers say every mouthful every day or resolve it by showing a majority.

Mr. Wikramasinha became PM in 2015 without a majority. If it was constitutional then why not when Mr. Rajapaksha was appointed as the PM in 2018? It's the same constitutional authority. So stop this double standard. Get over it. I am not interested in politics. I see the hostile Diaspora factions against our homeland prefer and endorse Mr. Wikramasingha's administration over Mr. Rajapaksha's.

The guy does not disappoint people by coming out with his hilarious statements! With so many investigations and cases against him, his associates, relatives and his immediate family members, he talks about legality, nice comedy script which suits him well.
