Yeah good move. But has the police arrested a single politician who flouted election rules during the campaign. I bet it is zero

What is the problem with taking a photo of one's own completed ballot? I serve as a poll station worker in Florida USA elections where it is permissible for anyone to take a cell phone photo of their completed ballot, but no other photos are permitted except of one's own completed ballot.

I think he took the photo to prove to whoever that he has voted for that person. Nothing wrong with it.

Poor fellow just wanted proof that he voted for a particular candidate so that he can get a job after the election in true Sri Lankan style.

In the UK It's illegal to take a photo of the ballot paper which may identify the Unique Reference Number on the ballot. Most polling stations have "no photography"signs and there's a Rs1,200,000 fine in Europe for breaking the law. It's all to do with protecting the integrity of the vote.

By doing so he can be financially rewarded by corrupt politians as that would be proof of his vote.
