United National Party (UNP) seniors will resolve all matters pertaining to the party amicably within the coming weeks, UNP MP Mujibur Rahaman said yesterday.
He said this in response to a question asked by journalists as to how the party was going to face the general election while confronting contentious issues.
“Party seniors are currently discussing the future and they will make the final decision on the leadership during the next couple of weeks,” the MP said.
UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe also assured on Thursday that he would unite all the different factions of the UNP and once that is done his role as the head of the party would end. (Yohan Perera)
