Several MPs representing UNF allies have informed UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa that they will support him to form a broader alliance to contest the upcoming presidency if he is not given the green light from the party.
According to an MP who is backing Mr. Premadasa, these MPs gave this assurance to him during a meeting he had with them on Wednesday.
Sources said some of the MPs who are currently out of the country had also given the same assurance.
Meanwhile, a prominent minister had met Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and had told him that a person who has the support of UNP party members and its allies should contest the presidential election. (Yohan Perera)

Nowadays my biggest nightmare is if this Moran will become our next president. I can live with Ranil, karu or even with Kirialla. But not with this stupidity.

I think he will. I can tolerate MR, GR with difficulty. But will never give my vote to GR because of the people such W Wanse, K Wella, Jona etc.

Yes only Sajith can win the election for UNP not Ranil can continue as prime minister
