Two arrested with Rs. 500 million worth heroin on E01

Two suspects were arrested while they were transporting 50 kilograms of heroin worth Rs. 500 million in a jeep on the Southern Expressway (E01) this morning, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.
He said the heroin haul concealed in two fertiliser bags was recovered when a suspicious jeep coming from the Kaduwela entrance was checked by the expressway police trying to exit from the Athurugiriya exit point.
The suspects were identified as Pelawatte Gamage Chaminda Dilruk (38) of Borella and Mangala Sisira Kumarasiri (38) of Udahamulla, Nugegoda. (DSB)
