Two persons had been arrested with 200 counterfeit currency notes of Rs. 5,000 by the Tangalle Division Crimes Investigation Unit at Weeraketiya.
Initially, the Police arrested a suspect with the counterfeit currency notes while travelling in a motorcycle at Hunnakumbura Junction in Weeraketiya yesterday.
Following the questioning the suspect, the Police raided a location at Udayala area wherethe fake currency notes being printed. Police arrested another suspect and seized a computer and a printer.
The arrested suspects, aged between 27 and 39, residents of Udayala and Hathurawela, were handed over to the Weeraketiya Police.
They would be produced in the Walasmulla Magistrate's Court.
