Training centre operator who promoted extremism with Zahran arrested from Kalpitiya

The trustee of an organisation in Kalpitiya was arrested by the police today for allegedly maintaining links with Easter Sunday attacks mastermind Zahran Hashim.

The Police Spokesman said Hashim and two sons of Mohammad Ibrahim had conducted lectures at the Organisation premises of the arrested man in Kalpitiya.

The suspect has facilitated to conduct a training centre to promote extremist ideologies by bringing in the suicide bombers as lecturers.

The training centre has been operated under the guise of a non-governmental organisation in which the suspect has served as a trustee. Police said the suspect is a resident of 4th cross street, Kalpitiya and the CID is conducting further investigations into the matter.
