The Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda cluster today exceeded 20,000 with 178 more individuals testing positive for Covid-19.
The Department of Government Information stated that all new cases were close contacts of patients who were earlier detected as positive patients.
Accordingly, the total number of cases in the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda soared to 20,124.
With the detection of news cases, the toll of Covid-19 cases so far reported in the country surged to 23,662.
Meanwhile, there are 5,986 patients under medical care while a total of 17,560 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. The death toll stands at 116. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
