Opposition LeaderMahinda Rajapaksa said the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) appointed to look into the Easter Sunday attacks was not the PSC they expected.
Speaking to a group of journalists in Colombo on Saturday, Mr. Rajapaksa said the PSC was politically motivated and as such the opposition did not want to take part in it.
He reiterated that intelligent service officials should not be allowed to reveal sensitive details publicly before the PSC. “This will turn out to be another episode of the millennium city incident,” he said.
MR does not want to embarrass Sirisena and also needs the SLFP support. That is the reason for the boycott.
If he is genuinely interested regarding this tragedy on 21st April he should have attended or sent Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith as his representative.
