Teenager falls to death from Central Bank tower

It's so sad how these teens and young adults these days be so quick in deciding on committing suicide even at the slightest problem they face in life. If only they could wait a bit more, think a bit more they would have understand the problems never stay forever, and everything is fine once it's gone. My dear loving Duwe, puthe, I don't know if you are reading this, but I know the struggle you do right now is so hard. I know you feel like dying is the easiest way out. I know you feel so alone and helpless. I know all these stress is eating up your whole soul. But please hold it. Bear it. Bear it just a bit more and I promise you that everything will be fine very soon. Remember just because one small thing went wrong, you have not failed your entire life. There's many better things, good things to coming on your way. I know it hurt. But it'll pass. Like a kidney stone, it'll pass. Please hold on. Hold on a little bit longer and everything will be back to normal.

I wish he waited a little bit longer and then one day, when he grows up he'll realize, what he had yesterday was not even a problem. I pray no innocent child would ever take quick decisions like this. May his soul reat in peace.

Dear Niduk, This is a shocking news that we can't absorb. Never in a million years did I think that I would attend a batchmate's funeral while still in school. We now know how much of a traumatic life you lived to take this decision. If only we noticed it before, we could've helped. Sri Lanka's suicide rate is extremely high due to the fact that mental health is not taken seriously here. According to statistics, the highest rate of suicides are by male teenagers. The reason for this is that they aren't given a chance to open up emotionally to even get help coz if they do, they are judged for 'being too weak'. Dear Sri Lankan adults, this is a humble request coming from just another 16 year old teen just like this victim. It's high time we look into mental health as a serious and growing issue that costs us young lives. Depression is no joke! Niduk, it was awful getting to know the hidden trauma behind your death. We hope you find peace somewhere soon! You will never be forgotten!
