The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) today welcomed the release of Swiss Embassy local staffer Garnier Banister Francis.
In a tweet, the FDFA said, “The FDFA welcomes with relief the release on bail of the employee of the Swiss Embassy in Colombo.”
The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court released Ms.Banister Francis on two sureties of Rs.500,000 each on Monday.
She was arrested and remanded on December 16 for providing fabricated statements to the CID over an alleged abduction.
