A 16 year old student and 30 year old man were arrested by the Ambalangoda Police for stealing smart phones worth Rs. 6 million.
The individuals who were arrested on a tip off received by the police had stolen smart phones from mobile phones shops in the area. The suspects had Rs. 65,000 in cash when they were arrested.
Police said the 16 year old was a student of a popular school in Aluthgama and had gained admission through the Grade Five scholarship exam.
The suspects are to be produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court today.
