Steps have been taken through the Foreign Affairs Ministry to bring down former Sri Lanka ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga, the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) informed the Fort Magistrate’s Court today.

The FCID said Mr Weeratunga was currently detained in Abu Dhabi. (Shehan Chamika Silva)

He should be brought to Sri Lanka and forward before courts.Then he will be sent to prison hospital until MR makes arrangements with Ranil/Prez and organize bail out. The case will be prolonged for some years and finally, the accused will be aquitted due to lack of evidence.Meanwhile, Weeratunge has already become a powerful minister, with this special qualification.
