A total of 14,125 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests were carried out yesterday (05) recording the highest number of PCR tests performed per day.
According to the statistics of the Health Promotion Bureau (HPB), a total of 903,280 have been conducted so far in the country since February 18.
The highest number of PCR tests of 13,671 carried out prior to this was on November 17.
Meanwhile, a total of 669 Covid-19 patients were detected yesterday rising the total cases in the country to 27,228.
Among the cases reported yesterday, the majority of cases of 204 were reported from the Colombo District while a total of 170 and 111 cases were also reported from the Kandy and Gampaha districts respectively.
Accordingly, the total Covid-19 cases in the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda cluster stand at 23,670. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

I things after mid of February, only can be applied to vaccines for coronavirus, after vaccines available to island no need to do PCR test to patients ????

This is pathetic. Needs to be 100,000 a day at least. No wonder cases are oddly 500/day for weeks. Means not enough testing.
