An extraordinary gazette was issued today declaring the services of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) as essential services.
The gazette signed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was issued by President’s Secretary.
He states that all services, work or labour of any description necessary or required to be done by or in connection with the SLPA would be declared as essential services.

Service is essential but the strategic assets itself is dispensable for a kick back from Adani! What kind of criminal thinking is this?

Very good. Let the law makers make the decisions and rule the country. Not the trade unions.

I'm unable to positively state that this move is incorrect due to lots of speculation, BUT Shud you not be taking action against your own Alliance Partners for supporting the Trade Union stance... ??? Aren't they also adding muscle to the Trade Unions??

Good Job.. don't let News Channels or Trade Unions to rule the National... People have voted for President so he can take strong decisions..

Very soon all state services will become essential services. Beginning of the end of democracy in the country. Only save us.
