Seven additional vehicles had been allocated to Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, violating the circular by the President's Secretary specifying that the maximum amount of vehicles that can be allocated to a minister was three.
Accordingly, it was learnt that the total amount of vehicles that had been allocated to Minister Bathiudeen is ten. It was further learnt that the number of drivers allocated to the minister was eight.
(The information in this regard was received under the Right to Information Act after making a request to the Additional Secretary to the relevant ministry on July, 11, 2018). (Tharindu Jayawardana)

For those of you who have a negative thoughts about this person, for your information he's being awarded one of the most prestigious Global leadership award for his continuous success in the business industry. Whereas no other politicians have even considered to be short-listed. Therefore, giving him 2 or 3 additional vehicles and drivers will not impact our income. There are so many culprits who have blundered billions of poor people' money but still they pretend to be Mr. Clean. Wake up guys

Ravi K also was awarded the best Fin. Minister of Asia but we all know about him, Mervyn Silva also rcvd a Doctorate, we also know about him, therefore these titles specifically to Politicians are manipulated awards. The Law in SL states 3 vehicles per minister... that is the law for all. If I knock your daughter dead on the road where I am wrong according to the traffic law, will u be happy if I get a no punishment or reduced sentence by showing off my credentials (whether professionally obtained or manipulated stuff)?

7 vehicles is about right!!! Yeah 2 for him then 2 for wife and 3 vehicles for other 3 mistresses(aka wifes)!!!

In SL it's a waste of public money when each minister and deputy uses 7 to 10 vehicles for the whole family!!! And the secretaries to ministry's too use 4-5 vehicles!!! Then the government corporations and boards chairmen uses atleast 3 vehicles!!! Then you've the provincial ministers and chief ministers uses fleet of vehicles!!! The cost of maintaining and fuel runs to over billions annually!!! This is the case for last 30 odd years!!! Imagine how many billions of rupees wasted !!!??? There's no end to this!!! However, can suggest a solution that could curtail or stop permanently!!?? Year, Burn couple of Cars with the minister inside!!?? Yeah, this menace of ministers using fleet of cars will come to a stop!!??

Remove the extra vehicles immediately We the public are not willing to pay for their extra benefit , and charge all dues on vehicle maintenance from them
