Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) chairman Ramal Siriwardane has resigned from his post.
He submitted his resignation letter to Transport Ministry Secretary L.P. Jayampathy this morning.
SLTB trade unions and employees claim that he had resigned due to pressure from a higher official in the Ministry.

The CTB, in many areas of operation, work in connivance with the private operators, and is not of much use. Insufficient and inefficient management and supervisory of operation is very lacking in most fields.

Ramal is most respected officer under Mr. Fowzie. Need more clarifications. But today CTB service come to worse. I used to travel 192 route not a single CTB bus in morning session from maharagama.
