The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) had launched a programme to woo the support of Sri Lankan's domiciled abroad to ensure its victory at the upcoming presidential election, party sources said.
On behalf of its candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Rajarata University’s Prof. Channa Jayasumana had gone to France to address a meeting organised by the organisation called Sri Lankans for Motherland in France.
It is part of a plan to bring back around 200,000 Sri Lankan expatriates with voting rights to Sri Lanka to cast their ballots.
At the event conducted in Paris, Prof. Jayasumana read out a message sent by the presidential candidate.
The Anusasana was delivered by Ven. Wathogala Dhammika Thera.
