SLPP requests Prez to take over Provincial Councils Ministry

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramauna (SLPP) yesterday requested President Maithripala Sirisena to take the Provincial Councils Ministry under his purview to ensure that the election for Provincial Councils (PC) is held immediately.

Addressing a news briefing at the SLPP head office, MP Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said it appears that the government was reluctant to hold the PC election.

At the rate of president taking over ministries he need to take over all ministries. Solution is that president has to force the govt and minister to hold PC elections to be followed by presidential and general.
