Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) Leader Minister Rauff Hakeem said today his party decided to vote against the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Mr. Hakeem told Daily Mirror that the SLMC took the decision after lengthy deliberations. He said though the motion had been aimed at the Prime Minister, the end result would be the defeat of the entire government. “We don’t want to defeat the government which we installed,” he said. Hon Mr Rauf Hakeem. You and the fellowship of the Muslim Community I being a Sri Lankan respect you for taking this firm decision to Support Hon RW we need every one to standby and respect him, and I request the Hon Priminister to achieve success win this motion and then step down and show better example to all that you are not power hungry as we all know that you are not wanting any black money but your good associates have taken you for a ride and disgraced you. the whole world will recognize you and the Hon President should know that he became the president because of Hon Chandrika and you.. Hand over the UNP to the younger generation and Wipe out the Rajapaksas but respect Gothabaya Rajapakse who is a disciplined person and will be an asset to the country.

Which means they in fact do not have confidence in the PM but want to continue savouring power. Also the seemingly horse deals are lucrative.
