Former Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who was arrested following the controversial white van press conference was granted bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today.
When the case was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage, the Magistrate ordered to release the suspect on two sureties of Rs. 500,000. Former Minister Senaratne was not produced before Courts during the case hearing.
Earlier, Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne transferred former Minister Rajitha Senaratne’s bail application to another court following a request by Deputy Solicitor General (DSG) Dileepa Peiris on behalf of the Attorney General (AG).(Yoshitha Perera)
