3 years to build and now a election gimmick . Its our money . Do you need both president and PM to open ? They do not have any other work ?

    Dee Monday, 08 January 2018 01:45 PM

No. Actually awe need busloads Brought in from outstations actually. Just to keep up with the past.

Jehan Perera Monday, 08 January 2018 01:57 PM

Where do you live? We pass Rajagiriya everyday and saw how they built it. They did a very good job. there is no politics here in building this. This bridge will help all those who pass Rajagiriya everyday by easing traffic. Its the biggest overhead bridge in Sri Lanka and the one this govt started. There is no harm in both President and the PM attending the ceremony

Jehan Perera Monday, 08 January 2018 02:03 PM

imagine 3 year back, they would have named this bridge as Rajagiriya Mahinda Rajapaksa Bridge.

Do you even pay your taxes? What money of yours was used for this? Its a soft loan from the Govt. of Spain.

Kumar Rajagiriya Monday, 08 January 2018 02:27 PM

This is from grants of Spain, not your or my money. Great work by President and PM, whatever good we must appreciate.

    Congradulations!

Politicians always open the projects completed with public funds with lot of fan fare, as if they spent their money. No proper public toilets in Colombo or in any other towns. Not one politician has addressed their mind to it. I request the politicos to have this attended and open the new toilets with or without fan fare

    Dikki Monday, 08 January 2018 02:31 PM

The flyover and related work was only 70% done and opened today ....political agenda !

When you build your house you don't wait till the last details are completed. If it can be used, you put to use at the earliest

Tax Payer Monday, 08 January 2018 03:30 PM

Let's hope there are no traffic bottlenecks at the end of the flyover...

    Rajitha Tuesday, 09 January 2018 10:48 AM

Sadly there are. I'm passing the bridge every day. I didn't see any difference in the traffic after they opened compared to before. I had to wait around 10 mins at the end of the flyover to get into the main road ( To Colombo Side).....

    OBSERVER Monday, 08 January 2018 03:53 PM

THIS IS NOT 100% COMPLETED AND WORKS ARE PENDING.PRESIDENT AND PM GOING TO OPEN A FLYOVER.IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES,PRECEDENT IS NOT PARTICIPATING WHEN THEY SEND ROCKET TO MOON.WHAT KIND OF LOW LEVEL MENTALITY SRI LANKAN POLITICIAN ARE HAVING?

Minendra Samarakoon Tuesday, 09 January 2018 08:17 AM

Just used the Rajagiriya Fly over early this mornng. Turn from Gateway College to Colombo side around 6.15 a.m.Went upto LOLC and returned. I observed [this morning only] traffic remains no change. there s a bottle neck too and also drvers are still not used to the new lanes. [Bottle neck is just after Lions Club Hall Bridge. ] I just thought even make the third lane on the fly over [use opposit direction one lane] and those who are turning from Aurveda junction towards Borella to make use of it in the morning would be a some kind of moving faster. this may not be a good idea but I just thought

Where is the Duplication road extension which we have been waiting for decades now?

    frank Tuesday, 09 January 2018 10:43 AM

this was a complete waste of money. they should have at least made the flyover go past the cemetery to elevate the traffic. i doubt there would be any change
