'Raina’ arrested for ’Keselwatte’ shooting incident

‘Raina’, an accomplice of underworld gang member of ‘Keselwatte Dinuka’, was arrested this evening in connection with the shooting incident that occurred in the Keselwaththa police area on Sunday night, police said.

Police spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the 24-year-old suspect was arrested by Special Task Force officers along with four milligrams of heroin in his possession. The suspect was identified as Dissanayake Charidu Chanilka Sankalpa alias 'Raina' of Sooriyamalpura area in Colombo 12, he said.

A 28-year-old person was admitted to the National Hospital who sustained injuries in the shooting on Sunday night in Wella Veediya, Keselwaththa. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
