Random Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) will be performed at 12 entry and exit points from and to the Western Province on individuals from 12.00 noon today until further notice.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the police and armed forces will erect special barricades in collaboration with the health Ministry at 12 exit and entry points of Western Province.
Accordingly, Antigen tests will be done at Thoppuwa Bridge at Kochchikade, Badalgama Bridge at Heladeniyawa, Helagalla Junction in Nittambuwa, Giriulla Bridge in Mirigama, Samanabedda Bridge in Dompe, Wahagoda Bridge in Hanwella, Bentara in Aluthgama, Thiniyawala Junction, Ketakedella Bridge in Ingiriya Saman Devale point in Baduraliya, Avittawa Bridge in Meegahathenna and the Welipenna Interchange on the Southern Expressway.
"Random Antigen tests are done in order to identify the Covid patients in order to prevent spreading the of the deadly virus to other areas and within Western Province," DIG Rohana said.(DSB)

Looks like they’ve decided they are only going to save the colombo district and the rest of the country can go climb a tree. They vaccinated only the western province and now this, while there are alarming increases all over the island.

How does this work. They cannot check every single person. They may stop a bus and check three people at random. Are all the other passengers kept waiting till the test results are known. If a person driving a car is stopped and tested positive he would be taken away. What happens to his vehicle. Parked by the wayside till the owners come back 14 days later to claim it ?
