President betrays again: Namal

5 April 2018 11:15 am - 34     - {{hitsCtrl.values.hits}}

Joint Opposition member MP Namal Rajapaksa yesterday in a tweet said President Maithripala Sirisena’s habit of betrayal had been proved once again during the voting of the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

MP Rajapaksa said President Sirisena had initially encouraged Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members to support the no-confidence motion and then backed away betraying both the SLFP and the United National Party (UNP).

He also tweeted that Minister Susil Premajayantha and other seniors of the SLFP had decided to take an ethical and firm stand supporting the no-confidence motion.

He added that they had given priority to the stability and future of the country.

    Nihal Thursday, 05 April 2018 05:21 PM

    Don't insult the public intelligence. Every thinking, honest person knows the vote was fixed by paying pooja money to MP's and agreeing to their demands. See if RK is not back in the saddle soon.

    Kumara Dharmarathne Thursday, 05 April 2018 12:01 PM

    Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, It's not President's betrayal,you guys still do not know what your strengths are. How many of your party advised you guys not to do this but you did not listen to them because Rajapaksas are very famous in not listening to advices. Don't blame President or any body else, It's you guys' own mistake. One more thing,don't worry about the defeat because your Dad says defeat is a victory.

    johan Thursday, 05 April 2018 12:33 PM

    May be his father is under the impression Ranil won and it is victory for him and his family
