Posts of Embilipitiya & Balangoda Urban Councils Chairmen suspended

Chairmen of the Embilipitiya and Balangoda Urban Councils have been removed by Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province Tikiri Kobbekaduwa with immediate effect.

They were removed until investigations into the allegations leveled against them are over.

Accordingly, Chairman of the Embilipitiya Urban Council Lalith Dharmakeerthi and Chairman of the Balangoda urban Council Chamika Jayamini Wimalasena have been removed from their posts.

The Governor has given the order to remove the Chairmen by issuing an Extraordinary Gazette Notification dated January 15, 2021.
