Postal voting begins

Postal voting for the Medical Officers of Health (MOH) was held today while postal voting for all government institutions except for District Secretariat, Election Commission and Defense sector would be held tomorrow and the day after.

Postal voting for Defense sector, Election Commission and District Secretariat officials would be held on July 16 and 17.

Colombo District Secretary Pradeep Yasarathna said today that postal voting was held in 20 MOH offices in the Colombo district.

Moreover, he said if any postal voter failed to show up on the respective days, another postal voting would be held on July 20 and 21 at the District Secretariat.

The GA said there was a total of 36, 530 postal voters in the Colombo District and all postal voting procedures were being carried out in accordance with the guidelines issued by the health authorities. (Thisari Walawege)
