There were only 3000-4000 Chinese nationals living in Sri Lanka and one or two percent of vaccines donated by China to Sri Lanka would be used for vaccination of them, a Chinese embassy official said.

The official said China donated 600,000 doses sufficient to vaccinate 300,000 people.

He said the rest was meant for locals and therefore there was no truth in reports that donation was for Chinese nationals only. (Kelum Bandara)
