In the wake of the Supreme Court ruling today, President Maithripala Sirisena is reported to have told the parliamentary group of the UPFA that he is not ready to work with UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe at any cost.

After the court ruling was announced, the group met with the President. At this meeting, it decided not to be party to any national unity government with the UNP hereafter.

A party source said that if any of their members join hands with the UNP, it could not be construed as a party decision but an individual decision on the part of this member. (Kelum Bandara)

President seems still he has not read the constitution well or getting advice from someone who is trying to pull his leg. As a President he should be able to work with any PM,because President is president and PM is PM,they should maintain their status as President and PM respectively, there is nothing called I cannot work with him and I can work with this person. If any President says like that, that itself proves that he or she does not suitable for presidency. You be the President and let him be the PM,irrespective of your status, objective of both is same to develop the country and look after the welfare the people. Therefore,we urge president not to talk nonsense, go ahead and work for the country.
