Now this is taking it a bit too far.The NCM against the PM was defeated because of the votes of the Tamil Party members who pointed out that the motion was politically motivated. This too is politically motivated and will be voted against by the Tamil Party parliamentarians. The UNP is making a fool of themselves, and Ranil Wickremasinghe should intervene and stop this.

UNP are beggars. They won't dare challenge the SLFP.

    Unchikun Thursday, 05 April 2018 05:26 PM

He He He, did someone tickle me?

    Ex-Voter Thursday, 05 April 2018 05:28 PM

We do not want loose motions all the time. You are paid to do a job.

    Lara Thursday, 05 April 2018 05:33 PM

No wonder. These UNPers doesn't know the meaning of a no confidence motion. They think it's an election.

Excellent - we need some entertainment this new year season - why not broadcast in High Definition and Nicam TV in all languages connected to the parliament's simultaneous translation channels. PLEASE DO SO

    Dee Thursday, 05 April 2018 05:39 PM

Now Now Now! The SLPP is already having 'loose motions'. Don't bring in any more motions. If at all distribute some flower buds to stop these loose motions.

    Gune Thursday, 05 April 2018 07:47 PM

This is exactly what MR wants. Please bring in the motion.

what a wastage of time just remove the portfolios from the SLFP ministers and give to the MPS who supported the government.UNP got more seats in the general election it is UNP's turn to form the government with whom they have to decide. No chance for lost party and came through back doors MP's to bluff.

    malij Thursday, 05 April 2018 07:03 PM

May be the President still wants to keep them. Hence, the only way out is a NCM to kick them out.

    Kavindra Thursday, 05 April 2018 05:45 PM

How so Labby? the government would function much better if they trimmed off the excess fat. The SLFP'ers who voted in favor of the NCM are individuals who would thwart any attempt made by the this goverment to eradicate corruption (not to say that the ones in power are angels). However they are far better than the ones who were previously in power. The government would function much better if the ministers are of one mind and that is to develop a prosperous Sri Lanka. Having stooges such as Dilan, Mahinda Yapa and Premajayantha would prove a detremental and a costly mistake.the Government, in my opinion should be lauded for their efforts and I hope that these events would be a turning point for Ranil and co to function better and work on the 2015 electoral mandate given to them by the majority who voted them into power.Kind regardsKavindra

Stop this nonsense, dont behave like school children, just forget what has happened a get down to work. Let the Hon President and Prime minister decide whether they should be in the cabinet or not, If the UNP is to continue then show the results and perform.

Whats sad is Prez was betrayed by a part of the group and supported the other in the sly. End result is proved and the reason shows why the other did not want to join as one.

    Park Thursday, 05 April 2018 06:00 PM

Its a "honesty" test for the President. If he does not remove them from their ministerial positions as they have voted against the PM under whom they have to work then he is sabotaging the working of the Government.

    Buwanakeba Thursday, 05 April 2018 07:11 PM

You all are jokers always on missions to protect vested interests. We did not send you to the Parliament to enact schemes to protect your welfare.

    karthik Thursday, 05 April 2018 07:17 PM

You all are elected to parliament and well paid to do a good job for the public but you all are getting involved in various fradulant acts and waste the valuable time and wealth of this country.

    Milinda Thursday, 05 April 2018 07:50 PM

The SLFP members have to live a dog's life because of their president's attitude.

    sathya Thursday, 05 April 2018 08:54 PM

It is not prudent to spend any more time with this useless and absolutely politically motivated NCMs, while there is a lot to be done for people and country. Spend time on constructive matters rather than people like Vimal Weerawansa and Gambanpilla...
