The No-Confidence Motion against Foreign Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake should be taken seriously not only by Parliament but also by the government and the people of the country, Joint Opposition Leader MP Dinesh Gunawardane said.
After submitting the motion to the Secretary General of Parliament, the MP told Daily Mirror that it should be included in the order book following Speaker’s approval.
“The party leaders will then have to decide a date on which to take up the motion for a debate followed by a vote,” he said.
He said the motion was handed over to Parliament yesterday on the basis that Minister Karunanayake was no longer fit to hold a ministerial portfolio. “We seek his resignation,” he said.
The motion was signed by 32 MPs of the joint opposition. (By Lahiru Pothmulla)

True Ravi K needs to go, but you also need to go because you have been a constant failure to this country and living on public money doing nothing but just complaining haphazardly.

Bring another motion against the PM for not only tolerating, but nurturing the crooks for so long in spite of mounting evidence.
Premalal. Friday, 04 August 2017 12:32 PM
I totally agree. The worst culprit is the P.M who winks at corruption and safeguards the corrupt of the previous regime. Look at his main financial advisor -Paskaralingam, the man who flees the country just before each election.

So what, JO MP. these things have happened in the past. Action will taken not only from within the UNP but by the President if the accused is found guilty. So just shut your loud mouth and wait for the outcome. In reality, the JO is in fact composed of more than enough of loud mouths in the likes of yourself, that 'koheda yanna maue pol" Gamanpilla. Vasudeva , the economic expert Bandula and the foot in mouth Professor.

You will have to fold your No confidence motion Sir, as long as Ranil is the PM, nothing will be done.

Hay Dinesh fly a kite man, you are joking !!! ha...ha..ha...
Mevan Friday, 04 August 2017 10:16 AM
What you say is true for all the crooks in government and in opposition. My guess is that nothing substantial will be done because of the "you scratch my back and I scratch your back" attitude of crooks in parliament.

Lion Viswanathan Friday, 04 August 2017 11:06 AM
Mr. Dinesh don't be too smart man, the President and the PM knows what to do, who are you to dictate terms to them.
Premalal Friday, 04 August 2017 12:41 PM
President and the Prime Minister knows what to do? Where have you been during the past two years? Look at the state of the nation where that President accuses his own P,M of doing deals with corrupt of the last government, The Central bank is plundered and the PM bends backwards to protect the crook, The Finance minister is caught red handed with tons of unaccounted money. Moreover we have a Foreign Minister who doesn't even know where he lives and why he writes undated official letters which has a 100 billion valuation. So do you still think that the PM and the President are in charge of this country?
