The health authorities have stressed the need to establish several more COVID-19 treatment centres in the Central Province.
Provincial Director of Health Services Dr. Nihal Weeerasuriya told the media that all COVID-19 treatment centres in the province were full to their capacity.
He pointed out that under the prevailing situation, the health authorities had been compelled to refer the male patients to the treatment centres in other areas to ease the congestion.
Dr. Weerasuriya further said he decided to use Ambana divisional hospital in Matale and Maskeliya divisional hospital as COVID-19 treatment centres in view of the increasing rate of patients.
Central Province Governor Lalith U Gamage was present at the occasion. (Shane Senevirane)
