A 35-year-old suspect was today arrested by Customs Narcotics Control Officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with 5,716 methamphetamine pills worth Rs. 20 million.
The pills were discovered after a group of Customs Narcotics Control Officers opened a suspicious mailbox that had been sent to the Colombo Cargo Express warehouse affiliated to the Airport Cargo Division.
The parcel had been sent from France to the 35-year-old suspect, who is a resident of Hultsdorf in Colombo. (T.K.G Kapila)
