The Meteorology Department today warned that there is a possibility of surging of the sea along the coastal areas from Mannar to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.

The Department said sea surge risk may be experienced due to the effect of swell waves which could rise up to 2.5-3 metres in height.

The Department requested navel and fishing communities and those who are living in coastal areas to be vigilant in this regards.
