Non-Cabinet Minister Ajith P. Perera today shed light on the removal of Carbon tax.
He told parliament that the discussions on the removal of this tax had received a positive response.
The minister said he had discussions with relevant officials after the Budget speech and the results were positive.
"We have space to make alternative proposals," he said and added that he had told media after the Budget that he was disappointed that the Carbon tax had not been removed saying that it was an unfair tax. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

Who agrees? Maybe useless characters. It's a very valid tax. That's if you want the next generations to live!

Sorry man, the carbon tax needs to be increased in a county like Sri Lanka where people do not care about the environment.

We appreciate if action is taken to remove the carbon tax as it is not only the capacity of the engine that produces carbon but it is the amount of fuel that is used. If the price of fuel is taxed, then there is a tendency to minimise the use of fuel.
