Mangala’s PR officer resigns

Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera’s Public Relation Officer Sameera Manahara has tendered his resignation , the ministry sources said today.

It was reported that Mr. Manahara has stepped down from his position until a Court ruling is given absolving him from the allege incident of a stock of narcotics found inside a jeep where he was also travelling.

According to the sources Mr. Manahara had handed over the resignation letter to Minister Mangala Samaraweera.

Mr. Manahara was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) in Mount Lavinia on August 5 with three of his friends and he was later released on bail by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)
