Medical Research Institute (MRI) Director Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara has been removed from the post and appointed as its Deputy Director by the Ministry of Health.
He was also entrusted with the responsibility of observing laboratory affairs at the Airport.
Meanwhile, Dr. P.V.N. P. Amarasinghe has been appointed as the new Director of the MRI.
