Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa will undertake a tour of Japan on June 9 along with a few other members of the Joint Opposition, it is learnt.
He will travel in Japan on an invitation extended to him by a group of Sri Lankans living in that country. Sources close to him said MPs Wimal Weerawansa and Prasanna Ranatunga will join him.
This is his third overseas visit undertaken after his defeat at the Presidential Election last year. Earlier, he visited Uganda and Thailand. (Kelum Bandara)

Well he is entitled to certain perks so can't complain about that, but he should not expect VIP treatment from the Japanese government. MR has this entitlement syndrome that foreign countries should respect him even during private visits. That is not the case. Unless you are a guest of that foreign government you will not get special treatment.

You and Weerawansa should go to Ethiopia not to Japan. You guys should go and settle down there, that is the right place for you guys.
