The US today said it was looking forward to working with President-elect Gotabaya Rajapaksa for a strong and sovereign Sri Lanka.

In a tweet, US Ambassador Alaina Teplitz said they were looking forward to working with the President-elect on issues of good governance, economic growth, the advancement of human rights and reconciliation in support of a strong, sovereign Sri Lanka.

She also congratulated the people of Sri Lanka on the democratic election.

Mind it the US government, there is no human rights violation in Sri Lanka to talk about Human Rights but the very US government itself breached many human rights in various countries.
