While saying that people’s behaviour during the festive season had not been satisfactory and had already led to a surge in Covid cases, Deputy Director-General of Health Services Dr S.M. Arnold said people who violate Covid related health guidelines would have to face legal action.
He told the media that the Health Ministry would not hesitate to take strict action in terms of legal provisions if people continued to act irresponsibly.
“It is sad to note the irresponsible behaviour of many people during the festive season. We observed some individuals taking health guidelines for granted when organizing events despite the Health Ministry has issued guidelines to be followed when organizing such events,” he said.
“In a situation where some countries are facing third and even fourth waves of Covid pandemic, we have been able to successfully contain the virus so far. However, if the irresponsible behaviour of people continued, a rapid spread in Covid cases would be inevitable,” Dr Arnold stressed.
Thus, he requested people to pay special attention to adhering to the health guidelines to prevent possible Covid clusters from emerging in the country. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

What about the Horse Races in N'Eliya ? No masks were worn and big crowds, including "local" royal family, all in funny clothes.

Repeatedly said over and over and OVER until now. This person appear to have just woken up to this fact after a deep slumber all this time. Enjoy the taxpayers' money and just shut up.
