New State Minister of Internal Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management Chamal Rajapaksa yesterday said a significant lack of supervision by the higher officials can be observed in the Police force.
At the Police Headquarters, the state minister told media that the lack of supervision was the root cause to the existing issues in relation to the police force.
He said OICs from remote areas played a major role in upholding police duties and higher officials should monitor their work. “If not, the existing system in the police would fail regardless of the number of officers in the force,” he said. By Thisari Walawege
