Minister Kabir Hashim yesterday condemned the recent acts of violence at religious places of worship in Mawanella.

“As soon as I heard about the recent attacks, I instructed the police to investigate and arrest those responsible. Two suspects have been arrested by the authorities and will be subjected to the full extent of the law," he said in a statement.

Unlike some of the other, let's just say 'elements' Kabir Hashim is not a religious zealot. He is actually quite liberal in terms of religious views. There are religious fanatics on both sides but Kabir Hashim is not one of them.

Muslim clergy Moulavi Sadhakathulla who was attacked in Digana riot at ambetenna and was hospitalized died yesterday. I couldn't see the news even a single media. If he was a Buddhist monk it will be the lead new in all media.
