IGP will resign today: President

Addressing the heads of media institutions, President Maithripala Sirisena said that the IGP Pujith Jayasundara will resign today.
He reiterated that both the IGP and the outgoing Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando didn’t fulfil their responsibilities.
He said the government should take the responsibility for the unfortunate terror attacks and for weakening the intelligence services.

Why should IGP resign? Police under him within 24-48 hours ,tracked down members of the killer team, got vital information about killers and surfaced lot of information about their link. IGP is so far doing a good job of work to have the country safe and secure, unlike President's secretary.

Mr. President, its 48 hours and counting since the so- called Defense Secretary has gone and the IGP should be before the end of this day. Are you going to replace these jobs with competent men post haste or wait for the next spate of bombs to explode taking more innocent lives.

You should be the first to take responsibility the mismanagement of this country and the negligence that cause unfortunate deaths of scores of families and loved ones. Instead of placing blame on others, do us ALL a favour and resign! You will NOT be missed for sure! You are an embarrassment to this Country. There is NO leadership....everyone seems to be running the show and has an opinion.....what a mess!
