Commenting on the Royal-Thomian cricket encounter, where a First Officer of SriLankan Airlines who was found positive for the virus has attended, President Rajapaksa today said he asked the organisers not to go ahead with the cricket match.

He said a decision was taken to suspend the big match between the two schools but he allowed it to continue following the requests of the students and the school administration. “They insisted to go ahead with the match,” he said.

“The result was a virus infected First Officer of SriLankan Airlines attending the cricket encounter. Today, some of the SriLankan Airlines staff members have been asked to undergo the self-quarantine process,” he said.

School administration seems stronger than the President of the country who could not give and order and tell the forces to seal the ground. The result is precarious and posing real danger to the entire country. Heads of the two school should be charged like how Pujith and Hemasiti are being charged for negligence

However we experience in past regimes comments " we told but they haven't done " pls don't follow the same. We have high regard for you . The principals of these two schools and organisers of this big match should be taken into custody at once and prosecuted under the provisions of the relevant legislative enactments for aiding and abetting to spread this deaday covid 19.They have not taken the seriousness of this disease into their consideration.They have put lives of innocent students and General Public at great risk.

Although you put the blame on schools and parents, I am 100% sure most of the requests may have come to you through the politicians around you. The number of big shots from govt. and opposition was in the ground.
