The President, if he's getting involved should have representatives from all stake-holders present when having this kind of meeting.

I am doctor practising abroad and it's saddening to see the current situation in the country.Quality education needs funding and if the government is not capable of doing so it has to be done by the private sector. It's disgusting how these doctors who studied from the tax payers money take the same public as the hostage. They would never dare to take trade union action during private practice. The blame should go to the rulers for not taking action against these hypocrites.SAITM is on a long path to achieve excellence but it's our duty as a nation to support it. This would be our last opportunity since not many will risk their lives worth in such a venture .

They accept the Chinese , Bangladesh, Nepal degree but not SAITM. I new a student who did Chinese degree she has one subject in GCE AL. Dear President, I request the followings:1.0 Please ask them to go to hell on this issue, But be linear on their children`s schooling 2.0 Regarding ETCA, the GOMA is correct. Our millions of workers in middle working without with any kind of ECTA arrangements, but on work permits. These Arabs do this well. Any sri lanken private or government sectors have shortage of experts and specialized workers (welders, masons, carpenters etc) if we do not have within the country we (employers) should allow recruit Indian citizens with work permits as our country shall maintain the progress. (we have seasonal construction workers in the country.)

Students who enter SAITM are either1- who study in International schools 2- Children of Sri Lankan ex-pats3- Foreign students4- Local students who are not eligible due to court a systemIf your concern is regarding the entry criteria then it should be taken up against the UGC cause they set the standards for entry in to SAITM. How many children now study in International/ private schools due to the inability of the government to give quality primary and secondary education. Who are we to stop theire right for university education in Srilanka.

What if they go abroad and study Medicine with 3 passes?

    Bingo Tuesday, 12 July 2016 10:52 AM

You either mislead or blind. all the foreign universities get evaluated by SLMC and issue 5 years recognition. They need to maintain certain standard in order to keep their recognition with SLMC. SLMC recently delisted bangaladeshi university and some of Indian universities. beside all the forein grands needs to pass ACT16.

    Bingo Tuesday, 12 July 2016 10:54 AM

Sorry, Your sound like a person living in middle east or 3rd world whom never know and will know about standard.

    eresh Tuesday, 12 July 2016 10:59 AM

you have mistaken, it is not Arabs. It is Indians who screw the Asians. not only sri lankans they do it for their own nationals.

    Shani Tuesday, 12 July 2016 03:25 PM

@Bingo, you sound like a 5 year old with very little intelligence...
