Four airmen killed in head-on collision in Warakapola

Four Air Force personnel were killed when a three-wheeler and a truck collided head-on at Dummaladeniya in Warakapola on the Kandy-Colombo Main Road early this morning.

Police said the deceased airmen were travelling in the three-wheeler.

Investigation revealed that they were attached to the Ratmalana Air Force camp and were returning from a funeral when the accident occurred.

The driver of the truck was arrested and the Warakapola Police are investigating.

Governments give three wheelers to people during elections to garner support. This is another way of killing people. Ban three wheelers and give proper employment to people. Very soon Sri Lanka will be known as three wheel dumping country.Valuable lives of four airmen lost due to three wheelers.

Similarly , truck drivers are also not properly trained. They drive like maniacs on narrow roads. Three wheelers are razing with big vehicles , overtake from left , right, cut in front. There need to be some solution . People should come up with solutions.
