Four Lankans arrested with Wallapatta worth Rs. 9.4 mn

Four Sri Lankans were arrested while attempting to smuggle out Wallapatta valued at Rs. 9.4 million to Dubai at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake this morning, the Customs Department said.

Customs Spokesman Deputy Director Sunil Jayaratne said the four men aged 34, 28, 39 and 46 were apprehended with 119kg of Wallapatta valued at Rs. 9,472 500.

He said the haul had been detected by the Departure Staff of Customs.

    I don`t understand , why cant government allow people to grow Wallapatta in a mass scale and allow to sell abroad. This is not corruption. What kind of silly government we have?. Our rupee is going down and no value.
