The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested two suspects including former Deputy Minister Abdullah Mohamed Maharoof in Kinniya for allegedly misusing vehicles belonging to Lanka Sathosa during the period between 2015-2019.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the CID launched an investigation on a complaint lodged by the Lanka Sathosa.
He said another suspect, Mohamed Aslam, a resident of Matale, has also been arrested along with the former MP.
“The suspects would be produced before the magistrate in due course,” he said
