Fire breaks out at shop in Chatham Street

A major fire broke out in a shop at Ihala Veediya, Chatham Street a short while ago, the Colombo Fire Brigade said.
It said the fire brigade teams from the Colombo Municipal Council and a substation doused the fire using six fire trucks.
So far, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire and the damage is yet to be estimated. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)
