Fire breaks out at four-storey building in Pettah

A fire has broken out at a four-storey building at the 1st Cross Street in Pettah a short while ago, the Fire Brigade said.

Fire brigade officials said six fire trucks had been dispatched to the location to douse the fire.

The fire has broken out at the building which houses a shop which sells electrical equipment.

They said the fire has been contained by the fire brigade officials and no casualties were reported. “Only property damages were reported so far,” they said.

According to the Fire Brigade, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
